What We're Looking For
- Hey! We're looking for folks who are pros at building and shipping web apps end-to-end. You can take an idea, build the client-side + make it beautiful, figure out the server-side + just get it working, and deploy it + get it in the hands of users.
- We don't expect you to know it all, ofcourse:
- For example, a lot of the work we'll be doing will be related to video streaming to allow kids and teachers to video chat. Another example is that we're building educational multiplayer games that kids can play during class.
- We don't expect you to have experience with this sorta stuff. We're looking for people who can understand new technologies quickly + adapt and just ship to users.
- We're built on React/Node/Firebase. Nothing fancy. All Javascript here!
- Our target candidates have shipped real products to real users. Anything from a hackathon project to something you worked on at a larger company counts.
- It's not required, but if you're an ex-founder or have a led a team in the past that's huge. Why? Well - basically it means there's a good chance you're a problem solver, can manage yourself, and don't need a ton of hand-holding.
- Looking for the dreamers. People who believe that a small team that is slightly insane has a real shot at changing the world.
Our Process
- A 40-minute phone call to say whats up.
- If you seem cool and you think we seem cool, we'll immediately contract you out part-time for 5-10 hours per week for 1-2 weeks to help us build a feature.
- As you build the feature, we'll get to know each other better while actually working together. You can get a better idea of how we work and we'll get a better idea of how you work.
- If the contract went well and we're both super excited, then we'll get you an offer within a day or two 🎉 .
Benefits
- As one of our founding engineers, we'd compensate you with a hefty amount of equity in the company (0.5% - 2.0%). And you'd get paid a salary as well and this range depends but we're looking at somewhere between $75K and $130K.
- The range is pretty wide because we're interested in both the new-grads and the experienced 15-year veterans. But, that means different compensation packages based on the value you bring to the company Day 1.
- All that good stuff like health insurance, a shiny new company laptop, and a nice chair to bless your back with comfort. We'll take care of yah. Promise.
